How much does brake pad replacement cost in Singapore?

It depends on the car and whether the discs are still within spec. Pads alone on a common daily driver sit well below a pads-and-discs job on a continental car with larger rotors. We measure first and quote per axle, itemised, so you can see whether you are paying for pads only or pads and discs. Message us your car model and we will give you a realistic range before you come down.

Do I need to change discs every time I change pads?

No. Discs have a minimum thickness and a surface condition, and plenty of cars go through two sets of pads on one set of discs. We measure rather than assume. If the discs are still within spec and not badly scored or warped, we will say so and you pay for pads.

My car pulls to one side when braking. Is that the pads?

Often it is not. Pulling under braking commonly points to a sticking caliper or slide pin on one side, or to uneven pad wear that is itself a symptom of that. Replacing pads on both sides without fixing the caliper usually brings the same complaint back within months, so we check the caliper action before quoting.

How do I know if it is the shock absorbers or something else?

Bouncing or floating after a bump and extra nose-dive under braking point at the absorbers. A clunk over uneven road is more often a bushing, drop link, or arm. They feel similar from the driver's seat, so we load the suspension on the ramp to find the actual play rather than replacing absorbers on the strength of a noise.

Do you do wheel alignment?

Tell us the car and the symptom and we will confirm what we can handle in house and what we would refer out. Where alignment is the sensible next step after suspension work, we will say so plainly rather than leave you guessing.

Is this the same as your big brake kit page?

No. This page is repair and wear replacement on your existing setup. If you came in for worn pads and end up curious about upgrades, we are happy to talk through both, but we will not quote an upgrade for a car that just needs a repair.

Brakes and suspension almost never fail all at once. They warn you first, and what the repair costs usually depends on how long the warning ran. A pad caught early is a pad. Left until it grinds, it is pads and discs. A tired absorber left alone quietly eats a set of tyres before anyone replaces it.

Brake noise, pedal feel, and what each one usually means

Squealing usually means the pads are getting low, which is a warning rather than an emergency. Grinding is more serious, because it normally means the friction material is gone and metal is meeting the disc, which turns a pad job into pads and discs. A pulsing or vibrating pedal points at discs that have worn unevenly. A pedal that sinks or feels soft is a fluid, hose, or caliper question instead, not a pad question. We check which one it is before quoting.

Suspension wear you feel through the seat and the tyres

Bouncing or floating after a hump, clunking over uneven road, extra dive under braking, or leaning hard in bends all point at absorbers, springs, bushings, or arms being past their best. Uneven tyre wear is often the first honest evidence, and it is the reason a worn absorber gets expensive if you ignore it.
